Murray Bremner

Murray Bremner

After qualifying, Murray spent seven years in Surrey before returning to Scotland. He opened the current practice in 1998 and expanded it in 2002. His main interests are in restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and oral medicine. He regularly updates his knowledge on training courses and is the current Chairman of Lothian Independent Dental Practitioners.

Jim Oliphant

Jim moved to the practice after qualifying and is now a partner. His main interests are in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He regularly attends training courses to keep up with the advances and modern techniques in all aspects of dentistry.

Jim also provides Invisalign orthodontic treatment using clear braces to straighten teeth.

John’s aim is to provide the highest standard of care to his patients in the most relaxed and friendly environment possible. To do this we aim to achieve an aesthetic and long lasting result with the least intervention possible and to have patients fully involved patients in all aspects of their treatment.

John has completed his MJDF from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) as well as numerous
other courses in endodontic and restorative dentistry- particularly minimally invasive aesthetic and
adhesive dentistry.

Karen Davies

After obtaining a degree in Biology from Edinburgh University, Karen moved into the dental field and studied as a Hygiene Therapist, qualifying in 2009 from Glasgow Dental Hospital. She now works in three private practices in Edinburgh, and joined the Albany Dental Care team in May 2011.

Jenna McColm

Jenna joined us in January 2020 having previously covered maternity leave at Albany, originally from Linlithgow, she moved through to Glasgow to study Dental Hygiene and Therapy at Glasgow Caledonian University, where she graduated with a BSc in Oral Health Science. Since graduating Jenna has worked in a number of NHS/Private practices around the Edinburgh and Lothian area.

Samantha McGinley
– Dental Nurse

Samantha joined the practice in July 2020. She qualified in 2012 after completing the Mentor training scheme, gaining her SQA/VRQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing. Sam enjoys a challenge and is enthusiastic about learning new skills, meeting patients and offering reassurance when needed.

Emma Graham

Emma started at Albany in February 2020 and done her training with Mentor training programme. She achieved her SQV 3 in 2021. She is a valued member of the team and works full time in the surgery. Emma is competent in all aspects of dental nursing and enjoys the variety of challenges this brings, she is keen to progress in dentistry.

Naomi Cutts
– Practice Manager

Naomi joined the practice in November 2019 as Practice Manager. She qualified as a dental nurse in 2010 after completing a NVQ & VRQ level 3 in Plymouth, she moved to Edinburgh in 2011. Over the last 10 years she gained experience and completed training in administration duties and practice management.

Her aim is to provide high quality care, to meet the needs of our patients and make the practice more comfortable and professional for patients to attend and for the team to work in.

Shannon Marshall

Shannon joined Albany in November 2021 as a trainee and was halfway through studying for her SQV in Dental Nursing at Edinburgh College. Previous to this she had studied full time since January 2020 and gained qualifications in NPA 1 and 2 Oral Health Care. Since starting with us Shannon has obtained both her SVQ and PDA Dental Nursing qualifications and is currently waiting for her GDC registration.

Ashleigh McGovern
– Dental Nurse

Ashleigh started working towards her SQV 3 in dental nursing at Edinburgh college in 2015 and qualified in 2017. She has always been interested in dentistry after having braces herself as a teen. She started with Albany Dental Care in August 2022 and looks forward to furthering her skills in implants and providing the best care to patients of the practice.

Summer Watt
– Dental Nurse

Summer joined the practice in August 2022. Summer started nursing in 2017 with Mentor training programme and achieved her SQV 3 in 2018. Summer is excited to start a new journey here at Albany and is eager to learn and further her knowledge. Summer enjoys sharing the experience with patients and has a friendly welcoming nature to put all patients at ease.
