After qualifying, Murray spent seven years in Surrey before returning to Scotland. He opened the current practice in 1998 and expanded it in 2002. His main interests are in restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and oral medicine. He regularly updates his knowledge on training courses and is the current Chairman of Lothian Independent Dental Practitioners.
Jim moved to the practice after qualifying and is now a partner. His main interests are in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He regularly attends training courses to keep up with the advances and modern techniques in all aspects of dentistry.
Jim also provides Invisalign orthodontic treatment using clear braces to straighten teeth.
After obtaining a degree in Biology from Edinburgh University, Karen moved into the dental field and studied as a Hygiene Therapist, qualifying in 2009 from Glasgow Dental Hospital. She now works in three private practices in Edinburgh, and joined the Albany Dental Care team in May 2011.
Katie qualified as a Dental Hygiene Therapist from the University of The HIghlands and Islands in Inverness in 2016. This degree allows her to treat gum disease and also restore all teeth and extract deciduous teeth. After graduating she chose to undertake the Hygiene Therapy Vocational Trainee programme in Forres before deciding to move to Edinburgh in late 2017. Katie now works across three different practices providing NHS and private dental treatment.
Linda has been working in dentistry since 1990, and joined Albany Dental Care in 2006 to assist in the general management of the practice. Linda was instrumental in achieving the BDA Good Practice Scheme Award in 2009 and ensures that the high standards necessary for this award are maintained on an annual basis.
Debbie joined the practice in 2001 and achieved her dental nursing qualification in 2002. In 2010, she completed a dental implant course at Newcastle University. As Head Dental Nurse, Debbie is responsible for the smooth running of the surgeries, and she supports the Practice Manager in the day to day running of the practice. Debbie has completed her Introduction to Practice Management training and hopes to achieve her diploma in Dental Practice Management within the next few years.
Lisa has been dental nursing since 2010, and gained The National Diploma in Dental Nursing from Telford College Edinburgh. She joined Albany Dental Care in November 2012. Lisa has achieved post qualification certificates in Oral Health Education and Fluoride Varnish Application.
Monique joined the practice in January 2013 as a trainee Dental Nurse and achieved her NVQ and SVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing in 2014.
Marlon joined the practice in March 2018. He gained a National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2009 in Milton Keynes and moved to Edinburgh in 2013. Marlon also has an SQA in Denture Finishing.
Anna joined the practice in February 2018. She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2017 with an NVQ & SVQ level 3.
Shannon joined Albany Dental Care in January 2018 as a trainee Dental Nurse. She is currently working towards gaining an SVQ & NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing.
